The Nisaa Community is a private, anonymous space where Muslim women talk openly and kindly about periods, prayer, fasting, marriage, pregnancy and everything in between. These guidelines keep it a place where every woman feels safe to speak. By posting or commenting you agree to them, along with our Terms and Conditions.
1. Be kind, always
Sharing here takes courage. No judging, mocking or shaming, of anyone. If you disagree, say so gently and assume the best of the woman you are talking to. Attacks on another member, her family, her madhab or her level of practice are not allowed.
2. Keep everyone anonymous
Your Community name is chosen at random and is never linked to your real name. Please keep it that way for you and for others:
- No names, photos, phone numbers, social media handles or email addresses.
- No details that could identify you or anyone else, such as a workplace, a school, a small town or a family situation others would recognise.
- Do not try to find out who another member is.
3. Share experience, not rulings
The Community is for sharing what you have been through and supporting each other. It is not a place for medical diagnoses or fatwas.
- For medical care, see a doctor. Never tell someone to stop or change a medication.
- For a ruling on your own situation, ask a scholar you trust. You are welcome to share what your madhab holds, but please do not present your opinion as a ruling for someone else.
- Nisaa AI sometimes replies to posts that have not had an answer. Its replies are general information, can be wrong, and are not medical advice or a fatwa.
4. Zero tolerance for abuse
The following are not allowed, and posts or comments containing them are removed:
- Harassment, bullying or threats
- Sexual or explicit content
- Hate or contempt toward any person or group, including any madhab or sect
- Content that encourages self-harm
- Spam, advertising or selling
- Pretending to be someone else, including Nisaa or a scholar
Writers of abusive content lose the ability to post, or lose access to the Community altogether.
If you or someone else is in danger
The Community is not an emergency service. If you are thinking about hurting yourself, or you are not safe, please contact your local emergency services or someone you trust right now. If you see a post from someone who may be in danger, report it: those reports are reviewed first.
How we keep it safe
- Every post is checked against these guidelines before anyone else can see it. Comments are checked within seconds of being posted.
- You can report any post or comment from its menu. Reports are anonymous, and the writer is never told who reported her.
- When three women report the same post or comment, it is hidden until our team reviews it.
- You can block any member. Neither of you will see the other's posts or comments, and she is not told.
- Our team reviews reports and may remove content, pause a member's posting and commenting, or remove her access to the Community.
For women only
The Community is for women. Accounts linked as a partner cannot see or join it.
If your post or comment is removed
The app tells you why. If you think we got it wrong, write to us at hello@getnisaa.com and a person will look at it again.
Changes to these guidelines
We may update these guidelines as the Community grows. When we make an important change, the app will ask you to read and agree to them again before your next post.
